    Unkle Timz Story

    •      For more than 15 years, Tim Blake had been making homemade salsa for himself, family, and friends.  After many years of experimenting and tinkering Tim settled in on the recipes he uses today.  Over the years people became more and more receptive and partial to his salsas and Tim realized that he might have something special.  Never knowing what the future would hold,  Tim did not share his recipes or his processes.  With much encouragement and support Tim decided to go after his dream to run his own business.

           Tim consulted with Newark SCORE who helped him
      develop a business plan and made sure he had all the necessary licenses, insurance, and inspections.  Tim found a commercial kitchen to rent and began his quest.  He made his first commercial batch on August 13, 2007.  The salsa, made under the name “Unkle Timz” Gourmet Salsa is made in small batches weekly so salsas are always fresh and just like homemade.

         Unkle Tim would like to thank all his loyal customers for feeding his salsa endeavor, and hopes you have enjoyed feeding yourselves and others along the way.

         A slow start was followed by steady growth.  Continued growth and promising sales have recently allowed Tim to take another step; securing his own Commercial Cannery.  Unkle Timz has been able to build a small licensed Cannery in order to better serve all that are hooked and to aid in reeling in more Unkle Timz fans.

         His goal, for the time being, is to offer quality, fresh, all natural, gourmet salsa in the Central Ohio area.  Unkle Timz salsa is available in 16 varieties and can be found at local Farmers Markets, as well as a number of stores in Newark, Utica, Heath, Mount Vernon, Granville, Thornville, and surrounding area.

      Local and Wholesale Delivery

      Unkle Timz may be able to provide local delivery for personal or wholesale orders.

      Not quite the drive through window, however Unkle Timz may be able to deliver multi-jar or bulk orders upon request.

      Need a lot of salsa for a party, diner, event, gift baskets, etc. You may qualify for bulk discounts or wholesale pricing.

      Salsa can be purchased (with advanced notice) in quart, half gallon, or gallon jars for parties or special events.

      Special Orders

      (Most special orders require advanced notice)
      Special or Custom orders may be able to be provided upon request.

      Examples:

      Any salsa can be produced HOTTER.
      Any salsa can be GARLICized (smooth garlic overtone)
      Some salsas can be combined. (Pineapple/Garlic) is popular
      Ingredients you cannot have may be able to be left out
      No Salt or Salt substitutes may be able to be used.
      Salsa can be provided in quart, half gallon, or gallon jars.
